It’s hard to believe that it’s half term already! Which means not only have you got to keep your pets entertained, but you’ve also got to keep the kids entertained.
With some COVID restrictions preventing us jetting away to warmer climates, there’s still plenty of fun and activities you can do at home. Here are some fun, cost effective tips and ideas to keep the kids and pets entertained:
Try camping
Camping can be a fun break for all the family. From a couple of nights to an entire week, it’s a great way to make the school holidays more fun. Make sure you wrap up on the cooler nights!
Build an obstacle course in the garden
Whether your dog is big or small, building an obstacle course is enjoyable for both your four- legged friends and the kids. This is such a great way to get your children and pets to do some exercise releasing those feel-good endorphins whilst providing fun for all.
Use cones, boxes, hoops, and ramps to create a super fun course. Place a treat for both at the end of the course and you will have a very happy family… just don’t get those treats mixed up!
Try new adventure walks
We all have our regular walks that we go on, why not mix it up and venture out to new location? Pack a flask of hot chocolate and some snacks – winner!
Go on a play date
If your children’s friends have dogs why not suggest going on a doggy play date walk. Head to a local park with climbing frames for the kids and plenty of room for the dogs to run around and lay together. Make the play date even cheaper by taking a picnic and snacks along with you.
Look at what events are happening in your local area
